Algarrobo is the name for Black Mesquite in the high desert Chaco region of Northern Argentina and Paraguay. This South American landscape shares similarities and species with the West Texas, Northern Mexico area that produces the Honey Mesquite historically used for flooring in the region. The rare and beautiful Black Mesquite (Prosopis nigra) is EXTREMELY stable and shows a range of browns and gray-browns with a beautiful grain in a rustic and better grade. It is a top choice for natural stability in a glue or nail down application.
