Brazilian Oak, also known as Tauari, is similar in color to North American White and Red Oak, but 30% harder and more naturally stable. It ranges from cream to tan to medium brown in color, and has a beautiful graining pattern. While providing the popular “wheat” color associated with domestic oak, Tauari is harder, more stable, and highly resistant to decay and rot. It takes stain colors beautifully and many consider Brazilian Oak-Tauari to be a superior alternative to domestic Oak at a very affordable price.
