Ipe is an incredibly durable wood. Because of this natural resilience Ipe is often the first choice for outdoor decking as well as interior flooring where it’s beautiful range of colors from a brown base color make it a top choice for flooring. Called Ipe in Brazil, Tajibo in Bolivia and Lapacho in Paraguay, this wood shows some regional difference in color variation. ELEMENTAL hardwoods only sources Ipe flooring from the western Amazon due to somewhat better brown color uniformity compared to Ipe generally from the lower Amazon region.
